LfBRARV miviRsi Vol. 6, No. 14 25$R Q3 $75 Salt Lake City, Utah 84115 April 3, 1975 Reprinted From an Editorial in The Review Of The News Of March In March of 1973, two years ago as we write, we Conservatives were being told again and again by our complacent friends that we had nothing to fear from the Communists that the F.B.I., the C.I.A., the Subversive Activities Control Board, the Internal Security Division of the Justice Department, the National Security Council, and the House Internal Security Committee all of these federal agencies . . . had the situation well in hand. Our was redundant if not paranoid. The nation was secure. Americas security was, after all, in the hands of professionals. Two weeks later the Internal Security Division of the Justice Department was abolished. Three months later the Subversive Activities Control Board was dismantled. A year later the Attorney Generals List of Subversive Organizations was eliminated. And on January 14, 1975, the House Internal Security Committee was abolished without so much as a vote on the real issue. As we go to press, what remains of intelligence operations under the C.I.A. and F.B.I. are under fire by witch hunt committees headed by Nelson Rockefeller and Frank Church. Five of whom The Rockefeller Committee has eight members Council on Foreign Relations. Chairbelong to the man Rockefellers attitude toward the F.B.I. is a matter of public record. We 26, 1975 Library of Congress report which notes that when Nelson Rockefeller was Assistant Secretary of State in 1944-194he was told by the F.B.I. that Alger Hiss, then a top State Department official, was a Communist espionage agent. Rockefeller buried that warning because of his concern, says the Library of Congress, that the FBI was a fascist organization in our own midst. As for the C.I.A. , no doubt Mr. Rockefeller is anxious to examine its files. Professor Harris Smith of Berkeley reports on Page 367 of OSS: The Secret History Of Americas First Central Intelligence Agency that C.I.A. Director Walter Bedell Smith warned Eisenhower that Rockefeller was a Communist. As for the Senate witch hunt committee under Frank Church: It contains two sometime Conservatives and such radicals as Hart of Michigan, Mondale, Baker, Mathias, Schweiker, and George McGoverns campaign manager Gary Hart. Church is so that the Reds in Vietnam taunted our Prisoners of War with his speeches. The Review Of The News revealed last spring that his guru and longtime Administrative Assistant wrote for the Communist Daily Worker , for another journal edited by a member of the Communist Party, and was for four years a paid director of the nations most, important Communist Front, officially described as the Communist Continued on page 6 Partys supreme bid for power. 5, pro-Commun- supply this material TOM ANDERSON DISCOURAGED? At Valley Forge, in the winter of 17771778, 194 years ago, General Washington and his army were and discouraged, freezing. Many of the soldiers half-starve- d, had deserted. It was a beaten army. Washington had become disconsolate. He had written his resignation as the General of the Continental Army and was about to leave his post. But, in the providence of Almighty God, a letter fell into his hands. This letter was written by a soldier to his mother and said , Mother, as long as we have General Washington as our leader we will win this war for freedom under God. Washington his returned to tent, tore up his resignation, fell on his knees before God in prayer, then went forth to lead his tattered and starving army to one of the greatest victories in following in 1975: 1. FOOD: Shortages will increase and prices will rise 30 percent during the year. The world food crisis will get worse. Suggested Action: Purchase at least two years supply of food that is suitable for storage. There 2. GASOLINE: will be strong moves by the approximately government to reduce gasoline consumption. Here is Mr. McKeevers forecast: Now let us condense in tabular form what I think might occur during 1975. Realizing unexpected events can occur that will change these trends, and that, at best, I can hope to be about 75 percent correct, I see the we rationing. Suggested Action: Immediately have a conversion unit installed on your car which will allow it to use either gasoline or butane. Buy a lockable gas cap and install extra gasoline tanks. Do these things now to aviod the possibility of their not being available or at a much higher price at a later time. 3. COST OF LIVING INCREASE: The official rate will be around 1 1 percent.
