Bell, head of the Granite School District in Utah) copy Dear Sir: am employed as a teacher in your district. I am writing you concerning the wage and price freeze and its bearing on my school wages during the 1971-7- 2 I year. In your special message to the. Granite School District teachers on September 27, 1971 you stated that you would continue to seek any means under the law to pay the full amount. The full amount is, of course, referring to my contracted salary. My point is, that by adhering to this edict from the federal government which you consider under the law you will be breeching my contract which is, without doubt, under the law. It is my conviction that the U.S. Constitution does not grant our federal governnent all the privileges and powers that it is now voting to itself. The e freeze is in this wage-pric- category and is an infringement upon my rights as a citizen of this state and country. It stands in violation of the Bill of Rights. I know that Granite School 11 are in proper focus it appears that other influences such as movies, books, magazines and TV are not nearly as significant as might have been supposed. However, if a young person is being subjected to a syndrome of confusing and distressing factors in his home and at the same time his immediate associates are detractors rather than fortifiers, then the influence of the media can have a tremendous impact, also. When this happens, homosexual styles in dress and hair can be a substantial influence. This may account for the strong emphasis in the Biblical canon which condemns any clothing or hair styles which identify with the opposite sex. Note these rather interesting examples: The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put .on a woman's garments; for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God. ( Deut. 22:5 ) Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her (1 Corinthians 11:14-15- ) The scriptural concern over these particular problems is emphasized by the Apostle Paul. He states that the effeminate and the homosexual are excluded from the Kingdom: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE, NOR ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND . . . ( 1 Corinthians 6:9) , Of course, effeminate, has special meaning in this particular text. It is referring to the male who plays the effeminate role in a homosexual relationship. CONCLUSION So far as this author can determine, there is a defi- nite swing in professional circles from the assumption to the that homosexuality is congenital or view that it is acquired through conditioning. This provides a much more promising future for the solution of homosexuality than would be the case if homosexuals were just simply bom that way. The next question is whether or not there is a cure. Therapists working with homosexuals find that most of them do not want to change. But can they be cured if they do want to change?
