However, many of these same people arc almost totally uninformed regarding the regionalism conspiracy. Metro is far more insidious and dangerous than most people can realize. NEED FOR ACTION Any person preparing to help restore the Constitution needs both background information and information on how to take action. Information without action will avail you nothing, hut improper action can be more dangerous than inaction. The Committee program is one of the best and it works at the grass roots level. ROCKY WITHDRAWS AS CANDIDATE FOR V.P. The recent announcement by Nelson Rockefeller that he would not seek to continue as by in 1976 has mate naturally being Jerry Fords running for his his intentions created much speculation regarding political future. To add more fuel to the political fire. Rockefeller, when asked whether he was considering running for the president spot, refused to comment. This seems most strange, in view of the fact that Rocky claims to have made his decision in the interest of party unity. If his decision was made in the interest of party unity, why would he refuse to state definitely that he would not be a presidential candidate? Why would he refuse to give Ford his unqualified support? And if he does not plan to be a candidate for the presidency, why would he refuse to definitely state so? Many members of Rockefeller's own party state that he could not win the nomination for Recent happenings indicate that Rocky himself is aware of this. It is also the ma jority opinion of Republicans that Rockefeller could not get the nomination for president if he were to seek it again. So, since Rockefeller realizes that he could not be elected to either position, there is considerable speculation that he plans to get himself appointed as president. Does that seem strange? Well, just dont forget that neither the present president nor were elected! This was thought impossible by most until it happened. vice-preside- nt vice-preside- nt. vice-preside- ROCKEFELLER APPOINTED PRESIDENT? The above remarks in this article are, of course, highly speculative. But then, when such strange winds are blowing as exist in our present political atmosphere, anything can happen. This writer just has a gut feeling that Rockefeller is not bowing out in the interest of Jerry Ford, of party unity, of the country or anything else but Rockefellers political future. This is just his way of trying an end run for a goal he has never been able to reach by the direct approach. So, anything can happen. We might not have enough facts to make a conclusive decision at this time, ...but keep your eyes open for some possible fast and unexpected developments from the Rockefeller camp. But people wouldnt put their money in savings accounts if they weren't paid interest, so why should they invest in businesses unless they had equal if not greater incentives? Capital investments are needed now to build homes and power plants, to build and equip factories, to buy farm equipment and livestock, to open and stock stores, to provide the high production tools and equipment so that there will be jobs at high wage rates. The United States needs massive amounts of capital investment, if deterioration and obsolescence arent to drastically lower our standard of living. And now we also have the drastic pollution - abatement requirements that require billions and billions of capital investment that wont become available without very considerable incentives. Unreasonable taxes take the incentives out of working or doing business.
