FROM INDIANA FARM BUREAU AN AMERICAN IS A MAN WH- OYells for the Government to balance the budget and then takes die last dime he has to make die down payment on a car. Whips the enemy nations and then gives 'em the shirt off his back. Yells for speed law's that will stop fast driving and then won't buy a car if it can't make 100 miles an hour. Gripes about the high prices of diings he has to buy but gripes more about the low7 prices of diings he has to sell. Know the lineup of every baseball team in die American and National Leagues and doesn't know' half die words in "The Star Spangled Banner." Will get mad at his w'ife for not running dieir home w'ith efficiency of a hotel and dien get mad at die hotel for not operating like a home. Will spend half a day looking for vitamin pills to make him live longer and then drive 90 miles an hour on slick pavement to make up for the time he lost. Will fall out widi his wife over her poor cooking and dien goes on a fishing trip, and swallow half-frie-d potatoes, burnt fish, and gritty creek water coffee made in a rusty gallon bucket and diink it's good. If homy callouses adorned your Is never ready for war but has never lost one. trying to keep his earning power up plants that clothe and feed us, owe their birth. They whose hatbands show no stains ith his yearning power. Is supposed to be living in die most civilized, Christian nation on earth, but we still can't deliver payrolls without an armored car. Has die services of more experts on marriage than any other country in the world and more divorces. But he's still "a pretty nice fellow'." Calling a person "a real American" is the best compliment you pay him. Most of the world is itching for what we have, but they'll never have it until diey start scratching for it the way we do.
