When ready for showing, a visitor to the Jensen Living History Farm will literally step into the living past. Depending on the time of day and the season of the year, he will witness the gathering of eggs, the milking of cows, the feeding of all the livestock, the preparation of the soil for seeding, the going forth of a sower to sow, ths cultivation, the harvesting, the threshing, the milking and the preparation of meals from the cereals and meat, vegetables, etc. dairy products, To the visitors of middle age and older, a Living History Farm will serve as a reminder of a remarkable past age - a period not so far removed in time from our own when most Americans lived on farms, raised their own horse power, and produced and processed most of the food they ate. In short, each farm, to a remarkable degree, was a self sustaining economic unit. The Museum and The Jensen Living History Farm will each serve as a first rate teaching museum. But a thoughtful walk, even into the recent past, should quicken our realization that substantial progress has been made by man, that most of our current serious problems are man made problems and as such can be conquered by man. The Living History Farm" and the Museum are called to the attention of the farmers of Utah, at this time, to let them' and' their friends of agriculture know that although we have collected many antique items for the museum, we need many more. If the reader has an old steam or gasoline engine, or smaller items used in the field or in the home in the production or preparation of food which he would like to have repaired and placed permanently in the museum, he is invited to contact me by phone or Utah by mail.
