Young Farmers seek outstanding member ' Prizes and recognition await the top three young farmers and ranchers in Utah as judged in the Utah Farm Bureaus annual contest. Deadline for entries to reach the state Farm Bureau office is November 5, 1973. The award program is sponsored yearly by the UFBF under the direction of the state Young Farmers and Ranchers committee. Utahs Outstanding Young Farmer will receive the use of a 1974 pickup truck for one year, plus an expense-pai- d trip for himself and his wife to the American Farm Bureau convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey 1974. in third-place winners in Second and the state will also receive merchandise and cash prizes. State winners from all states will mid-Janua- ry August, compete for three national Outstanding Young Fanner awards from the AFBF. All state winners will receive recognition at a special program at the national convention. Any Farm Bureau member family in which the husband is no older than 30 by December 31, 1973, is eligible, except for previous state winners and members of the national YF&R committee. Judging is based on both farming and leadership accomplishments. Application blanks are available from county Farm Bureau officers and the state Farm Bureau office. They call for information on such topics as the financial program, farm statement, management plan, farming equipment or buildings built or devised by the applicant, and so on. All information is kept confidential and all entry forms are returned to the farmer after juding is complete. common one The denominator in virtually all the hungry nations has been their devotion to a socialist political-economsystem- - a government managed economy.
