For the man with this kind of problem, a Salt Lake City firm has the answer. According to Wen Winegar, the owner of Utah Electric Motor Inc., their shop offers the only pump testing service in the Intermountain West. Utah Electric has a small well in their shop, located at 1839 So. 8th West in Salt Lake City, and pumps to be tested are submerged in the well and connected to a test board. By actually pumping water through pressure testing instruments, it is possible to determine the pumping capacity and if the pump is defective. According to Mr. Winegar, they also offer complete factory-typ- e repair and rebuilding of all makes of pumps - - a service which second-han- d could be of great value to Utah farmers. "A unique feature of our service is our field service. We are available night ami day to go into the field and pull a pump, bring it into our shop and repair the pump and the motor if necessary, return it to the field and set it. As a matter of fact, we're the only company in the country that performs this service. Were in a position to give real help to the farmer with a pump down in the middle of a critical irrigating period, " says Mr. Winegar. The firm also has facilities for rebuilding and repair of all types of electric motors.
