Show January, 1966 UTAH FARM Drought Program Secretary of Agriculture Orville L. Freeman offered government-owne- d feed grains to farmers in Utah County, Utah, in which drought in the past several months has reduced feed and forage supplies. Utah County is the fifth county to be designated for the livestock feed program in this State. this season. Under severe drought, flood or similar conditions, the Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to make available Commodity Credit Corporation-owne- d feed grains to in affected areas farmers eligible for assistance in the preservation and maintenance of foundation herds and othe eligible livestock. In these circumstances, CCC-own- ed feed grains are offered at reduced prices and in keeping with local support levels for the kinds supplied. The grain, as available, will be offered through the Agricultural and Conservation Stabilization Serve (ASCS) County offices. These offices are charged with responsibility for determining eligibility of producers for assistance. USDA also offered emergency conservation assistance in Washington County, Utah, where farm lands and conservation structures suffered damage because of excessive rainfall and flooding early in Dec. Annual Meeting In Full Swing Congressman Laurence J. Burton will be the keynote speaker at the Utah County Farm Bureau annual coovention to be held at the Kolob LDS Stake Center in Spring-vlll- e, January 27th.
