Show COUNTY COURT balance business transacted at this term in addition to the items of business transacted at tho december term of the county court which commenced in this city monday published in our last issue the following business was disposed of A communication was received from john A helstrom clerk of levior county with reference to amount charged said county for board and care of one james moss while awaiting trial at provo referred to the county attorney with instructions to proceed and collect said amount from the parties liable A report from judge dusenberry and selectman page was read it refers to the petition of B P terry et al asking for the road in pleasant valley fork of spanish fork canyon to be put in repair to the emery county lube and that they had examined the road and instructed it to be repaired at a cost of the court then proceeded to audit the road supervisors reports for the year ending the first monday in december 1688 collector V H brown appeared before the court with a list of names of persons owing territorial county and school taxes for 1888 and asked the court to remit the same for the just causes set opposite their respective names tho county portion of said taxes ras remitted the quarterly reports of the selectmen accounting for public funds placed into their charge were bitted audited and accepted the sums of to the insane fund and to tho highway fund were then appropriated to the several selectmen foris bursing salaries for services to dato were then allowed as follows S H thurman county attorney Y L halliday county clerk L H hardy county superintendent of schools 75 wm chesley night watchman 30 sheriff thomas fowler cars and custody of courthouse the report of tho committee appointed on steam heating apparatus for the courthouse and jails was received the report shows that throe bids were received for the work ono from sons salt lake city offering to do the work for 1850 ono from david james co 1715 one from provo foundry machine co for 1790 tho work had been awarded to david james co and had been completed with satisfactory results the report of selectman holdaway showing the sam of 76 disbursed for the care of wise tho indian from county who had his le last summer was read am the su appropriated the report of ex treasurer J E daniels up to october 13 1888 was read it showed total receipts amounting to total disbursements balance in treasury 2353 the bonds of jas E daniels recorder for utah county were examined and approved fish and game commissioner john A brown filed his report with the court it shows four arrests under the new fish and game law two for unlawful taking fish by means and two for unlawful killing of ducks three convictions haid been had and one case for unlawful killing of ducks discharged fines had been assessed ai 95 and costs one fine of 10 and costs had been paid and two cases for taking fish appealed to district court the report was accepted the suras 0 T and 1325 to sarah jolly were appropriated from the viive stock fund to these parties for animals sold belonging to them the compensation of the collector for the collection of tho special school lax as established june 6 1887 was fixed at the same rate as for the col lection of other taxes the following claims were presented audited and allowed sheriff thomas fowler board of prisoners mileage etc lol 25 J E daniels disbursing county funds louis P service on highways 12 J S page ditto 19 thomas fowler ditto 8 A D holdaway ditto 10 A D holdaway on insane 16 for auditing collectors stubs 14 for special committee work and mileage warren N dusenberry special miscellaneous services john A brown services as fish and game Commissioner 56 provo book and stationery company 1170 james boy den hauling sixteen tons of coal for courthouse 8 11 J maiben papering sheriffs office etc J W turner ex sheriff board and attendance of prisoners 0 H berg repairing benches at courthouse Court honse provo coop co op clothing department clothes for prisoners dr F H simmons 27 bocky mountain bell telephone co S E thurman legal fees in county cases 14 60 the following road supervisors claims also allowed 8 P christian 13 T H wilson jr 68 W W chardson Hi 1550 eli openshaw Opens baw 1770 geo taylor 26 henry snyder 6 jas B clark 12 jesse smith 66 john 60 jos W smith 14 wm wamer 15 benj ao 20 |
