Show MEETING OF THE U C T A the usual preliminary work for an active seasons campaign the first session of the T A took place in the central school louse saturday sept 15 with vice president G H brimhall minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted alie secretary then read the financial report which showed the following balance on hand last report so new members 50 cents fee total 1035 disbursements stationery 50 printed testimonials for J E talmage blackboard black board for summer institute sti tute ectal balance in treasury at present date the report showing the associations work during the past year was read and accepted with the amendment that the name of the district having been represented at the session be inserted it was then suggested that the duty of calling the district roll be imposed on the corresponding secretary the ch airman desired a new form of the certificate of membership of the association the speaker proposed that a book of forma be printed a stub attached in order to keep a strict record of the association which would comprise any person engaged in public or private institutions in class work his idea was that the certificates of membership be issued annually with the view of hav ine every new member pay the 50 cents fee on signing the constitution the i chairman stated that at a special meet ing of the county trustees and ese i autive committee the plan to adopt at the summer institute was revised and adopted JO of time so eliat the county circular was ready for publication the circulars would perhaps cost from 10 to 12 cents eacle or from to to each district J A reea moved that the expense of the publishing be left to alie trustees of the various districts which motion was adopted A motion was before the house eliat any expense remaining unpaid within thirty days after the publication of the course be paid by the respective spec tive teachers of the district all present were in favor of the motion the chairman spoke in regard to examinations ami nations he desired those passing bately in theory aad practice to pay and for a full set of questions the regular price for certificates adjourned until p m members met according to adjournment the chairman said the election of officers was in order and requested reau ested the secretary to read the constitution on motion of J A aces G H brimhall was elected vice president of the association cia tion evlyn billings was re appointed recording secretary and treasurer on motion of J B walton J A rees was appointed corresponding secretary which motion was adopted on motion of evlyn billings may robison was appointed assistant assis sant corresponding secretary the following gentlemen were nominated as members of alie executive committee J B walton J L brown and R S horn the following was agreed upon as a basis for the pro gramme of the next five sessions 1 subject for lecture 2 discussion 3 essays 4 entertainment musical 5 queries literary J B walton moved that a department j committee for the discussions be appointed the following appointments were made by the chairman may robison pleas primary dept ida coombs payson J B walton prove intermediate H F thomas harris payson grammar hemni Ja sAnderson lehi JB stewart benjamin the several committees were instructed to report a plan for the coming five sessions at the earliest convenience the following pro gramme for next meeting was then arranged lecture moral education GH brimhall song evlyn billings industrial training R S home primary drawing may robison Rob song discussion of daily and weekly reports association queries on motion of J L brown W S rawlings was appointed general book and paper agent queries to be answered by payson provo springville Spring ville american fork lehi benjamin and goshen adjourned for two weeks at 1030 a in MAY corresponding Correspond ig secretary |
