This has beon a great week for tho Procter Academy, Its teachers, pupils andpitrons. The annual coiumcneo-nient coiumcneo-nient exercises his occupied all tho week, beginning with thu baccalaureate baccalaure-ate sermon at thu Congregational church Inst Sunday night. Tho excellence excell-ence of the exercises in Procter Hall during the week has reflected groat credit on teachers and pupils, and been a matter tor pride and congratulations on thu part of parents mid patrons. The program lias been carried out substantially as piihl!hud lu tho last Issue of Tiii: Democrat. On Weiluesday evening, the Eighth Glade comiueijcement was held, the list of the graduates being as follows: Elsa Pearson, Deauu Monahmi, Cora Mabel Cochr.in, Ida May Cook, Albert: Puternon, Mary Edith Parker und Mary Kirk Smith. Subjec's were all I well chosen, well prepared aud well rendered. Deauu Mouiihan was tho orator of thu eveiiintr and gnvo nn ablo oration on "George Junior Republic of New York." Musical numbers wero rendered by the Procter orchestra under the leadership ot W. F. Beo Waller Whitehead, Miss Isabel Mona' han mid Mifs Ward. Diplomas wero presented to tho graduates by Judge J. W. N. White-cotton White-cotton In an able address dnvoted to the Held of education, compliments to tho graduates on the proficiency they manifested and encouragement to push them on lu tho field of higher uducatlou. Tho Academic Commencement was held Thursduv evening, tho graduates being: Latin Scientific course. Fred: erlek W. Nelson, Mrtlo Cochran: English Scieutlllo course; Wiu. F. Boo, Elslu Moore. Miss El.slo Moore presented tho salutatory salut-atory and followed with u tine address on "Amerle.in Humorists." u Win. F. Beo, the class orator, took for his hubject "Our Duly to the Philippines. Phil-ippines. " Miss Myrtle Cochran under tho title of "Boirowed Spectacles" ncied as class prophet and predicted bright, and shining futures for the class lu uu entertaining mid spicy manner. Frederick W. Nelson, us valedictorian delivered a polished and thinking oration on "What America Owes to Her Adopted Sons, Iho hall was tii'tofully and beautifully beauti-fully decorated with flowers and bunt-liur. Rev S. H. Goodwin offered tho Invocation In-vocation and the program was interspersed inter-spersed by musical selections by thu Procter orchestra, Miss Rulh WlUon of Salt Lake, Miss Puuliuu Moore and W. D. Roberts, jr.. We feel that the beautiful solo "Tho Sepiratlou" rendered by thu talented vocalist, Miss Wilson, is especially worthy of mention and compliment. Rev. Oluniueo T.
