G Hedger was the star among the male characters al although although although al- al though grandfather Herr Morgan had the tone and bearing of a genuine genuine genuine ine old German and was ably seconded seconded seconded sec sec- by Mr Erickson Mr Dyer and Mr Wie Little was very pleasing in her part while the three old ladies supposed to be past sixty sixty sixty-re- re received many congratulations for their excellent acting Miss Ellerbeck Ellerbeck Ellerbeck Eller- Eller beck in the role of the frisky maid and Miss J Wittich as the granddaughter granddaughter granddaughter grand grand- daughter were charmingly natural and easy in their parts Some of the actors were rather timid but take it all in all the play showed careful preparation on the part of the students and untiring zeal on the part of Mr 1 Arnold to whom the success of the entertainment was largely due After the play the favored guests whiled away a couple of hours in dancing DEBATING The debate between Utah and Colorado to take place in April is causing much agitation among the University students About twelve gladiators are now in the arena training for the preliminary contest which will be held Friday afternoon afternoon afternoon after after- noon the of this month The students are all carrying heavy courses but although the color is fading from their cheeks their eyes brighten at every new idea they find in favor of the affirmative side Utah will have a strong debating team this year and one which will no doubt prove a winner if that is possible but they have the odds against them The question for debating debating debating de de- bating as it now reads is exceedingly exceeding exceeding- ly ambiguous and the Colorado boys who worded it will make ef ef- use of it in its present form when it comes up for discussion If our boys are wise they will recast the question into plain English and have Colorado accept it |
