Show RULES J v n Article 1 This organization shall be e known know a as the Utah Inter Collegiate Inter Athletic Conference Article 2 Objects The objects of this Conference are 1 The encouragement of systematic phys physical cal exercise and education in the State of Utah Utah 2 The improvement and promotion of athletic sports sport among the schools of Utah 3 The establishment and maintenance throughout the state of Utah of a uni uniform orm test of amateur standing and uniform rules for the government of all ali athletic sports port within the sta state of Utah Article 3 Membership The members of this Conference are re the University of Utah the Utah Agricultural College the Brigham Y Young University the Brigham Young College the Latter day Saints' Saints University and such other educational educational educational institutions of the state of Utah as may mav may from time to time be admitted to membership membership membership mem mem- as hereinafter provided Article 4 Conditions of Membership New members may be admitted at any any regular or special meeting by a two-thirds two vote of all the members of the Conference Any member of the Conference may be suspended or expelled at a special meeting called for the purpose by bya a three-quarters three vote of all the members of the Conference Article 5 Representation of Members 1 Every member of this Conference shall be entitled to be represented at every meeting of the Conference by two delegates or alternates of such delegates having collectively collectively col col- one vote 2 Every member must appoint annually two delegates to represent it at meetings of the the Conference Conference and and such delegates must be members of the faculty or of the student of the school which body constitutes the appointing appointing appointing ap ap- pointing member 3 The appointment of every delegate t tand and alternate shall be in writing duly certified certified certified fied by the principal executive officer of the appointing member Article 6 Management The management of the affairs of this Conference shall be delegated delegated- to a board of managers consisting of all the aforesaid delegates the Conference shall be held each year one in Salt Lake City on d the c third Saturday of September r and one at a place to be named by the Board of Managers l between day clay of state track meet and the following Monday l Article 10 The The election of president ll and secretary- secretary treasurer shall be by secret ballot and shall occur annually at the regular September meeting in Salt Lake City Article 11 Dues Dues and Expenses 1 Each m member shall annually pay to the treasurer secretary-treasurer on or before the regular regular reg reg- ular September meeting five dollars as annual dues for the ensuing year provided provided pro pro- vided that new m members admitted after the September meeting shall pay five dollars at atthe atthe atthe the time of being admit admitted ed as the annual dues for the current school year 2 A failure to pay such dues within the time pr prescribed shall operate to forfeit the right of a representation of and a vote by bythe bythe bythe the delinquent member at al any y meeting of the Conference and nd a continued indebtedness for dues for a p period of six months shall operate operate operate op op- erate as a loss of membership by the delinquent delinquent delin delin- que quent l member 3 3 The receipts from dues and from all other sources shall be devoted to defraying the expenses of the annual state track meet and other necessary expenses expense's expenses of the Confer Confer- ence I Article 12 Conditions Conditions of Competition 1 No person shall compete in any athletic athletic ath ath- athletic letic contest between mt members of this Conference Conference Conference Con Con- ference who is not a registered student in one of the schools belonging to the Conference Confer Confer- Conference ence and doing dong satisfactorily at least ten hours' hours work per week as regularly outlined in the catalogue of the school where here he is registered 2 A student who withdraws from any school for any cause caUS whatever before completing completing com om- a regular or special course as outlined outlined out out- o lined therein and who ho afterward enters one of the schools of this conference shall not be permitted to to compete in any athletic cont contest contest con con- t test St between members of this Conference until until un un- til he lie has been a registered student in the latter school for a period of at least one school year provided that this rule shall not apply to students who have not participated participated participated in athletic contests for a period of at ath h least ast one year immediately preceding his registration 3 No student shall be permitted to compete in any athletic contest between members of this Conference who has received received received re re- or competed d for compensation or re reward reward re- re ward in any form for the display exercise or example of his skill in or knowledge of any athletic exercise for or rendering personal per- per who shall be elected by the Conference annually at its regular annual meeting in September The expense of the arbitration shall be paid by the losing members Article 14 Records Records of Athletic Events This Conference will recognize as official the state stat records of track and field events compiled by the Salt Lake Herald from time timeto to time but will not recognize as official any J
