Show I Research grants Professors receive awards the University faculty since 1958 and chairman of the Department of Chemistry since 1962. In inorganic inor-ganic chemistry, he is best known for pioneering work in the area of carbon-13 magnetic resonance. Dr. Prokasy, who has served for five years as professor and chairman chair-man of the Department of Psychology, is internationally recognized re-cognized as an expert in the field of classical conditioning. He has recently been involved in research on the development of mathematical mathe-matical models of conditioning processes. Psycholgist around the world have cited Dr. Prokasy for his "substantive contributions to the conditioning literature. ..and very substantial empirical and theoretical theo-retical contributions to the field." Prominent Theorist A member of the University faculty for 23 years, Dr. Wormuth is a prominent constitutional theorist and a former Fulbright grant recipient. He is the author of several books, his "The Origins of Modern Constitutionalism," being upheld as a classic in its field. Dr. Wormuth has served at the University on the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure and was acting head of the Department De-partment of Political Science from 1961-63. Three University professors have been named recipients of the 1971-72 Distinguished Research Professorships, it was announced Monday in Institutional Council. Nominated, for the awards which will release them for one quarter from academic duties to I pursue research are: Dr. David M. Grant, professor and chairman of the Department of Chemistry ; Dr. William F. Prokasy, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Science and professor of psychology; psy-chology; and Dr. Francis. C. Wormuth, professor of political science. Creative Contributions The Distinguished Research Professorships are presented to tenured professors by their col-legues col-legues on the University faculty in recognition of creative and scientific scien-tific contributions, said Dr. Ewart A- Swinyard, chairman of the University Research Committee and dean of the College of Pharmacy.
