But he did it. Nor did I believe that Richard Nixon could evade the issues of leaving a conconfused cerned, country efhe claimed leaderless as fectively first no knowldge of, then executive privelege concerning the scandalous charges levelled against him. Our President has done all of these things and more. It occurs to me that this man is desperate; desperate to stay in power. To my horror, it is now not an impossibility that he escalate an "Watergate," international crisis for the purpose of putting the U.S. in a position too precarious for any thought of impeachment. I urge that we, the people, remove President Nixon from office. A.S. Toner We wonder too Kditor: Well, the first snowfall has come and nearly gone. I wonder what TKE is doing about this. I wonder what the public safety commissioner is doing about what TKE is doing. I wonder if TKE is doing anything. I wonder the aforementioned if com- missioner will have a nervous breakdown if TKE doesn't do wonder if the commissioner has any authority to do anything about what TKE is or is not doing. I wonder if a certain University administrator will react to the actions or nonactions. I wonder if this administrator has been purged by our friend Mr. Gardner. I wonder if this administrator is running anything. I for public safety commissioner of Sanpete County. I wonder when Christmas vacation starts. Ahhh... winter certainly is a time of wonder. P.N.S. Frost Moss replies Editor: was most pleased to find that two people took the time to answer my letter which was in the October 30 issue of the Chronicle. My letter dealt with the advertising policy of the Deseret News towards the movie "Jesus Christ Superstar." There are several things I would like to say in my defense. First of all, I'm fully aware that a newspaper has the right to reject or accept any advertisement. My concern is that the Deseret News has based its policy on what one church has stated. It is not based on what the community wants. Also if they can base their advertising policy on one church I fact Mr. Thompson says that I should be "content" to read the Salt Lake Tribune. I am not content to read just one new spaper and accept everything in it as fact and truth. That is why I read both Salt Lake papers and several out of state papers. If I find any policy or read an article in any paper that I feel is not proper I will let that paper know. In conclusion I realize this issue may be somewhat small but I think we cannot sit back and allow such censorship to continue when it's based on such a poor foundation. Gary Moss No beef Editor: Another cartoon in the paper today; 48 square inches of newsprint space, blasting guns and deer hunting. Each time one of us buys a piece of meat we are letting out a contract to kill some innocent brown eyed beast. We should listen to deer hunting critics for two reasons: (1) Are deer an endangered species, and (2) are the critics vegetarians? Otherwise the critics have no legitimate beef (excuse, please). Katharyn Rees Black day references involving many Democrats (including those in the press) who are glad to see it all come out on a Republican. But for those who love their country- - that It foretold ravished mountain streams, "borrowed" Indian water, and mammoth construction on one slope of the Uintas. It predicted filthier skies over the Kapairowits Plateau. It marked official approval for continuation of construction on both the Central Utah Project and the Kapairowits Power Project. The Uinta chapter of the Sierra Club will be contesting these decisions in court. Let any who value clear waters and skies contribute now toward their preservation. Kathryn Moore is no excuse for Nixon. If we get Watergate and all similar incidents out in the open and keep them there the country can only get better. Just because the Democrats are the most enthusiastic denouncers of the President should not be reason for the Republicans to him as automatically accept good. Political parties have philosophical, not theological differences. Nixon is a government official, not a prophet. When all else fails the staunch conservatives always bring up the matter of security. "What would happen to our nation if we impeached Nixon during this time of international crisis?" I equate this to the ridiculous possibility worries our conformist A black day it was , this fifth of November, for the state of every Democrat in Washington in the " Communist conspiracy." That is no excuse for Nixon. It is good that it is finally being brought out in the open. Then, of course, the paranoid conspiracy freaks always ask, "Why is it all being brought out on Nixon?" I am sure there are dangerous Editor: Utah. not I don't know. I really don't care if he had substantiated Democrat friends. that liberal Nixon is becoming a monarch. Copy Editor e I then isn't it possible that they also base their news and editorial policy on that same church? The LDS church does not own the Deseret News nor does the church speak for everyone! So why should a newspaper be so influenced by that church? Secondly I don't feel that calling those people who are non-LD- S and find nothing objectionable in "Jesus Christ Superstar" just merely a faction. If they are just a faction, then why has the movie played in Salt Lake for five months and broken all records at the theater it is playing? That large number of people is not just a faction and I think the newspaper has an obligation to serve them also.
