L t Gibson secretary Mr Myron Crandall treasurer and a publishing committee f consisting of Mr Reynolds Miss Bates and Miss Davis Prof Kerr then gave an address on the importance and utility of mathematics He said that it should not be thought that mathematics is given in our college merely for its disciplinary t value Its practical use in life is as tl great as is its advantages for it gives the key to so many other t sciences Mathematics as a factor InI in I advancing civilization was touched upon and the the Professor closed his remarks with an appeal to the members to do earnest work t THE Zeta Gamma had a parliamentary t discussion last Thursday night all the members indulging in a free-for-all- free ground The conclusions arrived k i at were 1st That they would do away with the Government of the United r States 2nd That they would build a railroad to the sun 3rd That they Y would make a chemical analysis of the cheese composing the moon These wonderful intentions were too much for some of the members and they hastily sought for an adjournment AT the last meeting of the Delta Phi the members had the idea for a few minutes that the meeting and andall all in it was going to burn up One of the boys had received too much ventilation on a ar r certain question under discussion which r G caused the specks in his face and eyes to become all aglow The gentleman retained his equilibrium long enough to get out of the door but whether he ber be be- r came cool or not afterwards we have not been able to learn W.
