Students can use facility to find parking space Find parking space with help from Visitors' Center booth For all those who are lost or curious about upcoming events in the Special Events Center or just need a parking place on campus, the new Visitors' Center Booth is the place to go. The Booth, located at the main entrance to the University on 5th South, will be the main information center on campus, open to serve both visitors and students from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every weekday. Under the direction of campus cam-pus Parking Services, the new Visitors' Center Booth will sell visitors' parking permits, a day pass for 50 cents and through an extensive communications system, sys-tem, the booth attendant will be able to tell which is the closest empty parking stall. The visitors center will have constant communication with all of the parking attendants throughout the campus by a walkie-talkie system. Attendants will also be able to talk to each other and so help the students in a filled parking area find where ' the nearest parking space is available. avail-able. Mr. Mark Hammond of Parking Park-ing Servies said that the booth and communication system will be fully underway by fall registration, regi-stration, and is already helping visitors. Already available at the booth are brochures with maps of the campus and bulletins about each of the colleges. There are also pamphlets showing a self-guided tour of the campus and even a booklet entitled a "Walking, Self-Guided Tree Tour on Cain-pus." Cain-pus." Soon to be installed at the booth is a phone whereby anyone any-one from the community or campus may call for information about public events, cultural events on campus, all of the museums and displays the University. Uni-versity. Parking Services also sells the regular parking permits. Next year's "B" stickers are now available avail-able at the Parking Services office, of-fice, Bldg. 622, just across the street from the Special Events Center, at a cost of $7.50. |
