The fact that the bill providing for the creation of an Alaskan Alas-kan legislative council, to be appointed appoint-ed by the president, recently reported from the senate committee on territories, terri-tories, will not have an easy road was made manifest when the measure was under consideration in the senate on Wednesday. Before Senator Bever-Idge Bever-Idge could have it read he was compelled com-pelled to answer a volume of questions ques-tions from different members, and also to meet a number of criticisms as to tho merits of the bill. |
