Health Department offices are located in Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne and Manila to serve the district ty Every day during "limited exam and immunization clinic, Health Department nurses are busy swabbing throats, checking ears, examining rashes, giving injections and administering drops. Immunizations available at tiie clinic include (DTP), Diphtheria-Tetanua-Pertuaa- is (MMR), Polio, and Haemophilus b polyaac-carid- e (HIB) vaccine to prevent Measlea-Mumps-Rubel- la haemophilus influenza type b disease. Measles, mumps and rubella each require only one immunisation, and a combination shot can be given at 15 months of age. DTP vaccine ia given in four doses, beginning at two months of age. A booster four school is also recommended. Polio immunizations are given at two months, four months, 15 months and prior to school entry. Hie prohibit vaccine can be administered at 18 months of age. The Health department keeps records of immunizations, and can help you decide if your youngster needs any booster shots or is missing any immunizations. Throat cultures to detect strep throat can be taken Monday through Thursday during clinic hours. It takes 24 hours to find out if streptococcus bacteria are present. No throat cultures will be taken on Fridays. A variety of other screening teste can be performed during the Mrs. Florence Neilaen, Fairview, and Mrs. Elva Manwar-in- g and Verden and Marilyn Manwaring, Vernal, were here visiting with their sister, Lucile Winkler. They all got together and did some sewing. Roy Dunamore has come to Bluebell to make his home with Steve and Annette Dunamore. Tin a Bird was baptized Saturday, Feb. 4, and confirmed a member of the LDS church Sunday. Nita Iorge Montes, Palo Alto, Calif., visited in Bluebell with a nephew, Hershall Iorge. She also pent some time with her sister, who lives in Altamont, Loa Hansen. Nita came with her to attend her husbands funeral and burial in Ft. Duchesne. They were former Uintah Basin residents. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Tumbow had a birthday for their twin girls, Marva and Marsha. They celebrated their 33rd birthday Sunday, Feb. 5. They always have a family party for the occasion, but due to snow slides and the heavy now and cold they will wait for better weather. It was 40 below at their home monday morning, a record breaker for the valley. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee are great grandparents of a baby girl born Saturday, Feb. 4. Parents ofthe 7 lb. 8 12 oz. baby are Dawn and Kendall Murphy. Grandparents are Marilyn and Earl Murphy, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Murray. She was born on her great great grandmothers birthday, and she will be named Johanna after her. There isnt much news this week, as roads are bad and the weather cold. No one seems to move unless they have to. Thanks to phones we can still keep up on our neighbors. Maybe next week things will begin moving again. Mr. Marrell F. Bishop Martin Huber, Lapoint, performed the ceremony. Kellys maid of honor was her sister, Debbie Richmon, and beat man was Clays uncle, Arvin Simmons. Immediate family members attended the wedding. The new couple will make their home in Whiterocks. Mae Oberhansley and her sister, Freda Phillips, Vernal, drove to Las Vegaa for a weeks vacation. They attended the Roy Clark show, which they eryqyed very much. Helene Secakuku, 7, daughter of Ferron and Sandy Secakuku, was named student ofthe month in her first grade class at Todd Elementary, and received an award for the honor. Her brother, Bucky, was praised for having 100 attendance for the paat month. Rae Ann Mooaman, aa Pinch, and Josetta Mooaman, as an officer, acted in Shakespeares play, Comedy of Errors, which was performed at Uintah High School Feb. 7, 8 and 9. Ron Morrill attended a meeting of the Fish and Game Dept, at Fish Lake last week. The organization planned some ice fishing for the members of the department during their three-da- y stay. Following meetings, Ron drove to Hanksville in Wayne County, to visit relatives. He states that the return trip home, some 225 miles, took him seven hours due to road conditions. Kirk and Darla Draney and their two boys, Beau and Scott, Ogden, have moved to Whiterocks and are making their home in this area. Randolph remembered A founding father of the UB. labor movement, black union leader A. Philip Randolph ia one of the many influential persona recalled this February during Black ' History Month. ia Randolph best remembered for his role in organizing the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters in 1925.
