They also got some gene-olofrom a 98 year old relative of Joan's and saw where her great grandfather had lived and died. Other places of Interest that they visited were Glacier Park, Japanese Peace Gardens, Flat Head Lake, Montana. Field trip made to Nine-Mil- e Canyon Members of the staff and others from the Uintah Basin Education Center made a field trip to Nine-mi- le canyon August 4 to view the scenic wonders and history of the Uintah Basin. Those going were Spencer Squire, the guide; Ted Olpln, Mary Ana Hall, Joyce Murdock, Jackie Garr, DeAnn De Langs, Muse Harris, who assisted with history, Art Jones, Paul Edmunds and Vaughn Hunsaker. The possibility Is being explored as to whether a class, taught by Mr. Squires, would gather enough Interest In the Basin to take a class down to Nlne-MU- e. It Is reported that Mr. Squire has a very thorough knowledge of the archeology of the area plus an unusual understanding of the geology of the area. While on the trip the group found and viewed the site of an old Butch Cassidy hideout with the help of Mr. Harris. t, Burkman all from Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Smith and two children from Holly, Colo, spent the night with Beatrice Lundberg on their ' way to Salt Lake. --Ea- rl Winn and children of Calif., are here visiting at the Beatrice Luud-ber- g home and other relatives. They will spend one week in the mountains and fishing before returning camping home. - -- Mr. and Mrs. Don Kettle and three daughters of Salt Lake spent the weekend with his parents. Aneita Ercanbrack was home for the weekend from Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frlsby and family sold their home in Salt Lake and have returned to Ballard to live. They have moved Into the Charles Bingham home at Alterra. at the Tellntha Rasmussen home during the past week were son , Lloyd and grandson Robert Rasmussen from Calif., Air. and Mrs. Ben Dye, Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. lleber Rasmussen and family, Idaho Falls. Johnson of Calif., spent one week at the Ercel Johnson home visiting. He Is Ercel's brother. Mr. and Mrs. BUI Brlsbin have returned home from a two week vacation to Canada where they visited their daughter Judy and family. Coming home they traveled down the Columbia River Highway and down the Calif. Caost through the Red Woods. They visited Bill's sister and family In Grouts Pass, "Ore., and brother and family In Santa Rosa) Calif. The Merry Hands graduation from Primary was held at Ballard Church August 8th. Fourteen girls graduated. A program was held and cookies and punch were served. Ten mothers and three fathers attended also Bishop Max Todd and Zane Asay. Floral Collins was their teacher. Leona Lee of Salt Lake spent the night with the Dick Kettles visiting. Owen Goodrich from Othello, Wash., has spent two week here visiting at the Ellis Morrell home and other places. Dr. and Mr. Tunis and children of Provo spent the weekend at the Ellis Morrell home. Visitors at the Carl Frlshy home last Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ver-ly- n Thomas and daughter of Salt Lake, who had been to New Mexico and were Mr. Thomas returning to their home.
