The quota for this drawing according to a Duchesne County Hospital spokesman is 150 pints. This large quota reflects the increased usage of blood in this area. According to the hospital, the blood supply if extremely low at this time, with the Red Cross unable to furnish all needed in the area. For this the county hospital administration and staff is requesting an extra effort from local citizens to respond to this need. They cite an example of the need for the blood reason, blood as evidenced by a young woman who required surgery during the UBIC to activities. It became necessary announce over the PA system at the celebration that the young lady was in great need of blood to support her through two operations. The request brought the needed donors. Prospective donors should know that before, they donate a pint of blood a medical screening is done to insure n proper blood pressure, adequate or iron content in the blood, and questions asked regarding contact with various diseases to insure that they are in normal good health and can share a pint of blood with someone whose life may depend on it Several times in the last few months. hemo-globuli- the local hospital has received inquiries as to how blood could be donated for a local resident who was in a Salt Lake City Hospital. The hospital here cannot accept blood but by donating at the bloodmobile, blood can be replaced that has already been given and can be provided for a future emergency. The hospital staff wishes to remind basin residents that an hour of time, a unit of blood provided by a donor will mean a lifetime for someone else so please remember Tuesday September 20th 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Roosevelt West Stake Center.
