Fluids keep bronchial secretions from becoming infected and sticky. With fever, every degree above normal and increases the mata holism by 6 fluids will help replace the calories lost by this affect. To help keep sickness from spreading through the family, you can add 2 tablespoons of clorox to rinse water and dishwater to help prevent the spreading Recovery from a bout of flu usually takes a week, with no complications. However, for certain groups such as pregnant woman, elderly, children and the chronically ill flu can be a serious problem because their resistance to secondary complicating infections may be low. In any case, your doctor is best qualified to decide if medicine is needed. ' SOON! Symptoms generally include: fever, chills, headache, dry cough, and aching back, arms and legs which all tend to occur suddenly. Although the fever lasts only for a few or weakendays, you may feel ed for a week or more. One of the worse problems related with illness in the Uintah Basin is the dry wind. Make sure all family members are lly the ears. covered in the Keeping your home humid, even to the point of steaming the windows can do nothing but help your family. This can be achieved by keeping a pan of water boiling on the back of your stove at all times; by the use of a vaporizer; or even unventing your dryer. This moisture keeps the cleansing action in brochial tubes active, and may help prevent bronchitis or even pneumonia. When your doctor prescribes a decongestant for a member of your family, give it consistantly, especially with ear infection. With ear infection, the antibiotics given to clear up the infection will not dry up the small pocket of water that builds up behind the eustacion tube; this is why your doctor will ususally give you a decongestant along with the antibiotic with ear infection. It is very important to take both medicines in conjunction with each other, and for the entire time recommended by your physician. A person will usually show a marked improvement after only a few days taking the prescribed medication, but the infection is not completely gone at this time. In many medicines it is as important to take the last spoon full as it is taking the of germs.
