Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hansen Just returned from a months vacation, They spent most of the time visiting with Angelinas folks at Leon GTO, Old Mexico. Daves parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hansen from Sunday, met them down there and spent a week with them shopping and sightseeing. They visited at Guadalara, XocMir.'"o (floating Gardens), the Pyramids, anu many other points of Interest. - Supt. Thomas J. Abplanlp is In the LDS Hospital where he underwent Heart Surgery on Tuesday. Bud and Shirley Bancroft and family of Salt lake were visiting over the weekend at the home of parents, Mr, and Mrs. Neville Wlmmer and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bancroft. Also visiting at the Bancroft home were Butch and Erma Miller of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Olsen, Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bancroft and Mr. and Mra. Mr, and Mrs. Evan Olsen are grandparents of a baby girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Kent Olsen Jin. 25, at the Duchesne County Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Coons are grandparents to a tatiy boy born to their son, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Coon Jan. 23 at the Duchesne County Hospital. Mr, and Mrs. Steven Coon have been living here but have moved to Sait Lake where Steven is going to school. Visiting during the week with Mr. and Mrs. Don Mechani was Mrs. Mec hams mother, Lydia Nielson, Salt lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mace, Brlglam. Wednesday they attended funeral services for Dean Stuliia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Stubbs, Vernal . Mrs. Stulilw is a niece to Venice. Dennis Jensen and Wayne Jensen, Salt Lake, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jensen. A.A.N.R. Nolan Nielsen spent a two week furlough with Ills parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Henderson. Mr. and Mrs. Tal Wardle, Howard, Ruth, Las Vegas, Nev., spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jensen. They came to attend funeral services for Tals brother, F. L. Wardle which were held Friday in Roosevelt. -Mrs. Diana Mechain and girls, Ogden spent 3 days visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Chet Hendif son, Mr. Mecham came Sunday to pick up his family. Visiting with the G. B. Workmans was their son Kenneth Workman, Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. DeLoss Dye visited during the week with Mr. and Mrs. Randy Freston and accompanied them through the temple. Mr. and Mrs. Glade Davis, Mrs. Chet Henderson and Mrs. LaJean Richman accompanied Nolan Nielsen and Becky Deve-n- er to Ely, Nev,, last Tuesday where the young couple were married. Mr. and Mrs. Ry Brown went to Salt Lake Friday where Beth had a check up with her doctor. She had her eye operated on about four weeks ago. She Is reported doing fine. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Horrocks and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Horrocks went to Salt Lake Thursday to accompany Mr. and Mrs. David Timmons and family through the Mrs. Timmons Is the former temple. Linda Jennings and a granddaughter to the Theron Horrock's. Theron Horrocks and Rex Gardner have gone to California to a cattle sale. Mrs. Faye Horrocks took her mother, Mrs. Dell Goodrich, Vernal to Salt Lake Wednesday. There were two babies blessed Sunday. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven -- oons who was named Steven Scott and the baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Glsen who was named Lonnie. CPEiiTCBi GBSS0 Poster winners named in Title I contest Troy Jenks and Jack Unca Sam were winners In a recent Ute History Poster Contest sponsored annually by Title I at Todd Elementary, West Jr. High and Each of the boys Whlterocks schools. received a trophy. Troy is in the 4th grade at Todd Elementary School and his teacher is Robert Reay. Jack is one of the History Students at West Jr. high. His teacher is Mrs. Virga Page. Posters were Judged on how well they portrayed some phase of Ute culture and history as well as on artistic talent. Judges were Margaret Eberle, Director of Bottle Hollow Training Program and members of the Bottle Hollow classes. All students studying Ute History at the three West side schools of the Uintah School District were eligible to participate. A special treat was presented to all participants by Mrs. Norma Denver and June Lyman and Grant Drolllnger of the Title I staff. Among those attending the Regional meeting in Vernal on Saturday of last week, were Bernard Winkler, Udell Winkler, Bernlece Atwood and Bishop Howard Todd. Visiting at the La Von Atwood home over the weekend were Gene and Carma Ber-re- tt and two children and Marolyn Clark and two children of Salt Lake. Visiting at the Leonard Goodrich home over the weekend were Drew and Theora Goodrich and children and Morris and Zelva Goodrich and children of Clear- field. Phil Mathews and daughter spent the weekend here with his parents, the Claud Mathews. Phil lives in Murray and he brought Ada home, after she spent the past week in the city. Roy and Twlla Pearson and three children of Rose Park spent the weekend visiting with Twilas parents, Mr. and Mrs. William O. Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Jorgensen were the in Sacrament meeting Mr. Jorgensen is the coach at Altamont. Among those attending the Special Temple Day in Salt Lake on Friday and Special Priesthood on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam Larsen, Bernard Winkler, Howard Todd and Ronald Miles. Bernard Winkler drove to Provo on BasThursday to attend the BYU-Utketball game. He spent the night with his son Chad and family and then drove on to Salt Lake where he went to the Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Seeley are grandparents of a baby son born on Valentines day, Feb. 14 to Dal and Bea Seeley of Taylorsville. This makes 2 boys and a girl for the Dal Seeleys. Other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Angus, Ballard. Great grandmother is Mrs. Jennis E. Goodrich of Salt Lake and Marion C. Seeley of Santaquin. Dal and two children, and Mrs. Jennis Goodrich were weekend guests of the Seeleys in Bluebell.
