The contractors bids on previous plans were too much greater than the money available. The lowest bid was $8,000 greater than the engineers estimate, according to Mr. Patterson. Mr. Bean stated that the plans would have to be drawn up again and approved by the Los Angeles Board. The expiration date for the government allotment is less than 60 days hence, therefore speed is essential to get new specifications adverapproved, tise for bids, .the bids let and work started. The council members present (Mayor Madsen could not be reached) expressed their approval of the substitute type of building and urged that the visitors use their discretion to see that the building would meet all necessary specifications and requirements. Some of the separate items to be bid on when advertised will be: fencing and power line moving, plumbing, and other projects. Mr. Bergan said he was eager to get Duchesnes airport work going and that he .will assist in any way to get a flying school started here. He also said that most airports in the state required a lot of grading to make runways useable, but that the local airport has the best natural runways of any he has seen, for it takes but very little maintenance work to keep them in good condition. Mr. Patterson said that the next set of plans will be more flexible than those published previously to allow for the scarcity of some materials. . well-drillin- g, RELIEF SOCIETY CELEBRATES 106 ANNIVERSARY Mary Th Anthony, Idaho.
