Show ELECTION TIME Just a little over three weeks are left before election day. And Duchesne has as yet selected no candidates. It's time to get busy folks. Too hurried a decision is often a poor decision, and it would be better If we had our candidates before ua inntr pnouph to reallv measure their worth before going to the poles to vote on them. The right or wrong Mayor or City Council can go a long way towards advancing or retarding our fair city during the next two years. There is already an application applic-ation before the Public Works Administration Ad-ministration for $36,000 for a new water system. This paper has called your attention to two other projects of vital Importance to us. Namely the question of a Municipally Mun-icipally owned Power Plant, and a hospital. If either or all of these projects should go through, It behoves us to be sure that we have men in office equipped to handle these funds efficiently. We have heard a lot of talk around town about having a "Business Man" in office. It seems to us that whether or not a man is actually act-ually in business Js of little importance. im-portance. What is important is that he must have business ability; abil-ity; or shall we rather say, Fin-uncial Fin-uncial ability. With this ability, he must also have the courage to use it, and not to be persuaded by outside forces. In short a man or men who will continue the good work that has already been started start-ed in advancing our city on a firm financial footing. We have heard a lot of names mentioned in the past week or two. Let's get them up before the people where we can see who and what they are, and not wait until the last few days to select our candidates. , Prohibition too is to be voted on , on Nov. 7th. We have our own personal opinions regarding this question, but as they are personal per-sonal views we refrain from pressing press-ing them onto our readers. We do urge that you get out, however and vote. AND VOTE YOUR OWN CONVICTIONS. |
