We asked the question: Does Roosevelt, through citizens and representatives want to substitute the its claim they have often made to fairness and impartiality or does it, through them, want to refute this claim by demanding as their sole right and heritage all the cream of the educational system by demanding the Music festival as a permanent Roosevelt Spring ? event In placing this question we took the position that Roosevelt citizens in bulk were perhaps not in accord with the position the action of the last meeting of the board of education placed them in, and we wanted to find out. We find we were quite right. Comments from several Roosevelt citizens have revealed that they knew little or nothing of this situation, and have no desire to be placed in an unfair or uncompromising position in regards to the Spring Music Festival. WTe want to make it clear that in our editorial we did not intend to accuse Roosevelt or its citizens of taking an unfair position. We asked them if they wanted to take that position; We do not believe they are brought into mutual understanding by the press, it is hard to see why there are elective officers who do not realize the advantage of reporting all transactions involving public money. LIGHT Electricity Is Your Most Efficient Servant -- to-wi- t. off-ye- - son-in-la- During the past year county officers in different counties of the state were accured by legal represen tatives of malfeasance in office. Would the situations that arose, leaving the public officeholders open to prosecution and criticism, have come about if the counties mentioned had been required to publish, for public reading and study, their county proceedings and transactions? The answer is obvious. Our school districts handle hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. Any reasons for not publishing the annual statements are insignificant and foolish when compared to the reasons why they should be published. There are as many reasons why a public accounting should be made of public money as there are voters. Recently a series of articles written by Byrd Trego, Idaho's crusading publisher, were printed by Utahs weekly newspapers.
