THE COUNTY AUDITOR'S DEED LIST This week the list of prope property taken over by the County on Auditor’s Tax Deeds will be made public throughout the county. Tf the regulations regarding this property are lived up to it looks like there will be one grand moving day soon. This list reveals a deplorable condition ‘in os County. Parcels of land and City property throughout the County are listed, with taxes unpaid for as far back as twenty years. Is there any wonder that _ our taxes are high, and that this year the delinquent list is higher than ever before? For twenty years _ the honest taxpayer has been going along Sorry ng the extra burden of the tax-evader. Legal Advertising that a license may: be inged to a co-partnership or corporation if the members of said co-partner ship or the directors and officers PUBLIC NOTICE -|of such corporation, as the case _ Notice is hereby given that Du- may be, are of good moral charchesne County has taken over all acter and none of them has been tails from the County Commission- ers, G, V. Billings, Jesse A. that 1983 tax payments amounted to only 36.89 per cent of the assessments - - just a little over onethird. There is a lot of prejudice against what theoretically amounts to the confiscation of property by tax- ation, but it would seem high time that action be tak- en on this property that has gone unpaid for so long and the actual taxpayer be relieved of the extra burden. What a fine thing if all the property throughout the state could be made to stand its share. It would seem that taxation could be reduced to about half of the present rate. The County Commissioners deserve. full support in trying to clear up this situation. The list is pre faced by a notice saying that persons using the property must look to the county for authority to remain. “Pay or get off” is the ais causal We hope they stick to it. WHAT’S DEVELOPING ON MOON LAKE? We are short of news on Moon Lake this week, but do not want to pass it up. Every day we heat someone say “Oh that has all failen through now” It has not fallen through, and we would like to tell it to the world.
