He was on a flight from Ogden to Moab. The pilot explained that when the engine trouble hit, he was flying over mountainous country, and was able to land the plane in a dry creek bed along the Green River about 15 miles from Ouray. He said he crashed about 10 a m. on Monday, and it took him until 7 p.m. Tuesday to reach a small farm house, where he rested for the night. The ruext morning he walked into Ouray and telephoned to a brother and his wife. He escaped from the plane with only a scratched knee.
