Show SEPTEMBER LOANS EXCEED THOSE OF PREVIOUS MONTHS Berkeley, Calif. Oct. 4: - Fulfilling Fulfill-ing the quota set by the bank in its promise to Henry Morgenthau, Jr. Govenor of the Farm Credit Administration, upon his recent trip to the Pacific Coast, President Presi-dent Willard D. Ellis of the Federal Fed-eral Land Bank, eleventh district, announced today that the Land Bank has closed loans for the month of September to the total of $2,006,400 in the four states of the district, California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Of these loans 204 were Land Bank loans to the amount of $1,410,000 and 262 were Land Bank Commissioner loans totalling to-talling $596,300. The total of loans more than doubles the sum of similar loans made in the months of June, July and August, aggregating $892,000 and represents the speeding up of the Land Bank's activities through the emergency training of a large corps of appraisers, now numbering number-ing over 200. During September 3091 applications applic-ations for both kinds of loans were received by the Federal Bank, totalling to-talling $20,459,000. Extensions on loans already in force granted by the bank during the same period were 5S4; in August, Aug-ust, 1358. Morgenthau has reported to President Ellis that in the twelve districts of the United States the Land Banks are now averaging $S67,000 of loans closed daily. |
