OLaughlin & company of Draper. In addition to th,e increased quantity, Mr. OLaughlin said, the quality of the' wool will be of the best in tent years. Marked improvements in quantity and quality, he explained, is due to ideal weather conditions for .herds in Utah during the past winter. But the improvement is not limited to Utah, he added. Larger and finer clips are indicated also in Nevada and Idaho. The .expected 19,000,000 pounds of wool ini Utah would mean more than $6,000,000 for the wool growers of this state. Practically all of the wool already has been contracted for. Many of the sheep men sold at 30 to 35 cents a pound, but some of them have received, according tc reports, 38 and 39 cents. Mr. OLoughlin stated that reports he had received (were to the effect that sheep sharing would be in full swing in Utah about April 1 o D o o D o o D o o D 1. Shearing will begin at some points in the state earlier than that according to the Union Pacific and Oregon Short line list of shearing dates now being prepared. Clipping will start at Newhouse on March 16, and at Fairfield on April 10. The important Jericho wool harvest will not begin until April 14. Clipping at Modena will be even later, starting on April 26. A. J. Seitz, under whose direction the railroad list of shearing dates is being prepared, said that the wool clipped (would be loaded into freight cars and moved immediately, as practically all of the Utah clip has been contracted for in advance. Movement of the wool will be a big spring task for the transportation lines, especially if the expected 2,000,000 additional pounds of wool are produced. It was stated Friday that among the most fortunate of the intermountain wool growers were those interested in the Murray Sheep company and the McGill Sheep company, both having herds in Nevada in the .region adjacent to Ely. The Murray company, it was said, will get 39 cents a pound for wool clipped from about 25,000 sheep. The McGill .eompany will 0 get 38 cents for the wool from sheep.
