HALLER EREK-SOEGG PRODUCTION Receipts to Utah poultry producers for this year will approximate $2,000,000, it was estimated recently by Bemjjamin Brown, president and general manager of the Utah asPoultry Producers sociation. Reports submitted by the 1,500 commerial poultry farmers of the state showed that the period ending Oct. 15, had netted the farmers nearly $1,500,000 on eggs, fresh and frozen poultry including Utah sales and exports to surrounding states. Mr. Brown stated that the egg producing season is approaching and that through the winter the production! wilL increase to reach a peak in May, when it will decline, with September being the month of lowest production. UTAH TO BUY 500,000 CHICKS IN CALIFORNIA To negotiate for the purchase of 500,000 baby chicks for Utah farmers, Benjamin Brown, president of Cothe Utah Poultry Producers operative association, left recently for Petaluma, Calif., one of the worlds largest chicken raising centers. The purchase is designed to place Utah inj the front ranks of poultry poducing states. Mr. Brown will also arrange for the sale of three or four cars of Utah turkeys at California markets. Utah will export approximately 20 carloads of turkeys this year, most of which will be shipped to New York. -- IT TAKES 58 HULLERS AND THRESHERS TO DO THE BASIN THRESHING A survey of the Uintah Basin relative to the means of threshing alfalfa and clover seed amid the various grains discloses the fact that there are 28 Birdsell hullers in what is known as the Reservation and 3 Birdsell hullers in the Ashley valley.
