But alfalfa seed in two years has changed the Uintah Basin from the home of a few hundred Indians and a few hundred struggling white farmers, many of whom were almost ready to stop struggling and give up, to a section of the United States that is rapidly becoming well known for the high quality of its main product and for its prosperity. We also urge that any social activity of your local be reported. We have gone to the expense to get a new cut for the heading of this department but it is impossible for us to publish news of the farm bureau unless you send it in. The social activities of the various farm bureau locals of both Uintah and Duchesne counties have been neglected during the month. Farmers and their wives have been very busy more so than usual on account of the late spring and much of May work being pushed into June.
