Show TRUTH. K. Ks an Auxiliary to Democracy The sanction of the Tribune and the American party convention to the bitter attack upon President Roosevelt by Frank J. Cannon continues to be talked about. That such an attack should be permitted in a convention supposedly composed of Republicans, as well as Democrats, is ample evidence of the political job that is being worked. That the leaders of the Democratic party and the American party understand each other and are working for one common end is plain. There is no doubt whatever but that a perfect comity of action has been decided upon between Kearns and Lipp- man upon one side and the Democratic leaders on the other side. Further from information that has just come from New York City, the Democratic national committee appears to have been party to the plan for Frank J. Cannon to make his spectacular flop, in the hope that enough Republican Gentiles could be induced to vote the American ticket, and as there are no presidential electors on that ticket, forget to vote for the Roosevelt electors, and thus help defeat Roosevelt in Utah. When professed Republicans sit in a convention and hear a scurrilous attack up the presidential candidate of their party, and make no objection, in fact some of them applauded, and the organs of the American party the Tribune, Herald and Telegram praise the speech, run out of adjectives in their fulsome adulation of it, and designate it as a great and unequaled effort, it should be a warning to the friends of Roosevelt of what is going on. tion, and the election once over, the scales drop from their eyes and they see the resuit of their folly. The number of men in tfiis place in proportion to population, who after election ad mit they have once more been taken in, but that they will see the thing remedied the next election, cannot be equaled any where. And they are in evidence in this election. You cannot talk or reason wiui tnem.
