Show TRUTH. WITH THE RAILROADS. A fine service with some new The city is to be congratulated upon the passage of the Rio Grande Western franchise by the city council. It means another costly station for this city, to say nothing of many other improvements in the mechanical plant. Already the companys agent, E. A. Nock, has begun buying additional land and the work will commence on the depot as soon as possible. It will be across Third South at Fourth West, .with the main entrance in the center, but the company will cut a street along its east front from Second South to Fourth South. The present stations will be torn down to give additional yard trackage for the freight depot and over by the shops will be erected the new electric power house with an addition to the shops, a complete circle for the round house, new car shops, and so bn. Manager Edson is due here to go over the ground and arrange the details for a mammoth improvement, which wiL mean an expenditure of equal proportions. Read, the Consolidated Railway is pushing its extension from Murray to Sandy with all vigor and the work will be completed within a reasonable time. What the line has done for Salt Lake and Murray and the country lying between, will be repeated along the county road to Sandy. The two places, Murray and Sandy, have for a long time been the homes of great industrial plants and these will be added to, no doubt, from time to time, making them most important business places. As the farms along the route are among the most productive in the state, the new line will have a good region to draw traffic from and will therefore prove a good revenue-gette- r for the system. - to hear of his elevation to the presidency, of the New York, New Haven & Hartford. jf rected, approved and completed bythe Board of Equalization and Review, heretofore duly appointed by the City Council for that purpose, of the property abutting on the north side of Third South street, between Fourth East and Tenth East streets, in Side- walk District No. 6, of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a side- walk upon, said portions of said street, is hereby confirmed and the assess-- 1 ments made and returned in said com- lists are hereby confirmed.
