Show IN TRUTH THE STUDIOS. work in both !l fc Late Thursday afternoon Governor Wells appointed Lewis A. Ramsey as a member of the board of the Utah Art Institute to fill a vacancy on the board. The appointment will no doubt meet with general favor among the artists, as Mr. Ramsey is first, a Utah boy. Then he is young and enthusiastic and has entered upon his local work fresh from Julians and the art centers of Paris, where he had been for several years, up to last June. Upon his return he was selected as instructor in art at the L. D. S. university and is also organizing private classes, at the same time devoting his spare time to landscape and portrait painting. His friends will be glad to know of his early recognition by the executive of his home state. Jl i Since the announcement that there would be an exhibit in the Commercial club under the auspices of the Utah Art Institute the various painters have gotten down to hard thinking and harder work in preparing something which can be entered for the $300 prize. Judging from a glimpse of new pictures in several of the studios Truth is of the opinion that if all the artists exhibit there will be more fresh FERGUS COALTER MUSIC CO.
