The recital given Tuesday evening Somers-Cock- by Mrs. Percy s, soprano, and Francis L. Woodmansee, pianist, attracted a fair number of the citys musical population to the Congregational church. The recital was one of the really artistic events of the season. Mrs.. Cocks was in fine voice and she 6ang a programme varied enough to give her talent full play. All her numbers were charming. Especially well rendered were Mascheronis Ave Maria and Delibes Chanson Espagnole. A gem of the evening was tne Grieg Sonata for the violin and Professor Skelton playing the piano, violin. Mrs. Cocks and her mother, leave on Sunday night to join Mr. Cocks in England, where they will remain . |
