During the past three months the growth of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in this city has been marvelous. The membership of all the lodges has increased wonderfully. Particularly so in the cases of Enterprise No. 15 and Ridgely No. 9. It will be remembered that not quite one year ago this last named lodge was in hard straits. Owing to the efforts of seven members to divide its funds among them and wind up its affairs its charter was taken away and the seven expelled from the order. The lodge, however, had friends in the persons of some good and true members who asked that the charter be restored, and when this was done an action at law was instituted which resulted in a victory for the lodge. Of course, the organization did not get all its money back. But it got sufficient to place it on a sound footing once more. Last fall the membership was twenty. Last Thursday night the conferring of the third degree on a class of about twenty has made its membership in good standing sixty-on- e members, with a dozen more waitto be Initiated. New paraphernalia ing has been purchased, a degree team organized and Ridgely is today one of the best in the city 'and in the state. The new membership is composed of young men, ambitious and energetic, and they are going to continue to hustle. The old members, too, are taking a deepei interest, and everything looks good for Ridgely. poly-gam- y y high-rarkie- pa-ap- er pla-ace- d Jl Jl Ye see, Perry, continued the senator, spearing an extra large trout with an accuracy that would make a Chinook Indian blush with envy, and taking some more shoe strings, "afther ye came up here so th news av yer inditemint, if wan was returned, would get cowld before ye heard av sit down. Parleys canyon, together with fifty or sixty other folks. While there Charlie tried his luck fishing. The results are said to have been startling to' every one, not excepting the fisherman himself. People came in foi miles to see Charlie fish, and were greatly charmed by his manner of casting a fly. Owing to the perverseness of the fish, however, they were denied the sight of seeing him land a big trout or even a small one in the latest and highly accomplished fashion which distinguishes Walker when fishing here in the city. pla-ac- dfs-cu- ss pla-ace- M HTJr Jl A Profitable Place to Live Greatest Play 6round on Earth Famous Places which everyone wants to sea.
