Show L ADDITIONAL SOCIAL The big social event of Thursday was the bridge tea given by Mrs. John Dern and Mrs. William Cunningham at the Dern home on East South Tom- 11g street. Those assisting tho host- esses during the afternoon wero Mrs. Fred Dern and Miss Jessie Anderson. Punch was served in tho library by Miss Kathorino Geddes, Miss Elizabeth Eliza-beth Mclntyro and Miss Addle Zane. Thoso presiding in the dining room wero Mrs. Richard Keyes, Mrs. James Flnlan, Mrs. Lewis McCornlck and-Mrs. and-Mrs. Joseph Galllgher. v Thursday evening at tho Homo Young Woman's association a social was given for tho board of trustees, tho managers and directors of the association. An informal musical pro- gramme was given by Mrs. Alfred Pe- ter3 and Mrs. Alvah Lewis. In the near future one evening a month will bo devoted to a social affair, at which the girls of the home will bo tho hostesses. host-esses. & J Mrs. Henry James Hicks of Indianapolis, Indian-apolis, Intl., sister of Mrs. John J. Broughall, will arrive in the city next Thursday to be the guest of Mrs. Broughall at the Fifth East hotel for two weeks. Mrs. Hicks will later go east, spending tho winter in Atlanta, Ga., and Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Judge Mason McClave and her mother, Mrs. Frances H. Cornell, have gone to Los Angeles for the winter. Mr. McClave will join them in January for a month's rest. They will stop In Salt Lake, on returning, to make their home in Denver, Colo., where Mr. McClave's business calls him. Mrs. Walter Fitch entertained at a bridge tea Thursday afternoon. The rooms were bright with a profusion ( yellow chrysanthemums. Mrs. W. Edward Fife and Mrs. Walter Maas assisted In tho dining room. Six tables ta-bles were filled with tho players. Mrs. John C. Sharp entertained at a tea Thursday afternoon in honor of Miss Stella Daynes, one of tho brides of tho month. The rooms wero prettily pret-tily decorated with pink carnations, sixteen guests being entertained. it a Dr. and Mrs. G. W. Shores and family, fam-ily, and Dr. and Mrs. A. J. Shores and family left Thursday evening for Los Angeles, where they' will spend several sev-eral weeks. j: Mr. and Mrs. D. A. A Mrs. Ferdinand Fabian will leavo next week for Now York to spend a month. . Dr.' S. H. Plnkerton and E. M. Bag-ley Bag-ley left for Chicago and- Now York Wednesday.
