VISIT BROTHERS Mrs. Virgil Harris accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gleed and family to Salt Lake City Saturday where spent the weekend with their brothers, Marion and Phil Rees and families. They all attended '"South Pacific" at the Valley Music Hall Saturday evening. Billie Gibbs and Hugh Clark, students of Dixie College spent several days at their homes here and attended funeral services for Billie's grandmother, ,Mrs. Clara Hall. Mrs. J. C. Gibbs and Mrs. Thomas attended fuMaurice neral services for John Anderson in Ogden Friday. ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES Mrs. Merrill Petty and children of Richland, Wash., are visiting with Mrs. Petty's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Gibbs and other relatives. They attended funeral services for Mrs. Petty's grandmother, Mrs. Clara Hall Thursday. Hall Roland Mr. and Mrs. and family of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with relatives and friends here. Mrs. Thelma D. Gibbs returned home this week from Ogden where she spent the past three weeks with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Gibbs and son. Mrs. Sherman Gibbs has been very ill. Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley went to Idaho Falls Friday to see Mrs. Melvin Gibbs who is very ill following surgery. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ward and returned Kenneth Sunday. Miss Marva Jean Parkinson of Salt Lake City spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oran Parkinson. s Mr. and Mrs. Murray of Clearfield left their children with their grandmother, Mrs. Ladetha Hoskins while Mr. and Mrs. Larry Allen and children of Tremonton were dinner guests of Larry's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs Allen Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Wright of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ladell Gibbs and family, the occasion being their daughter's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Hoskins were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Leonard Hoskins of Ogden Sunday. They also visited with Mrs. Marilda Flint and Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Flint of G.S.S. BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Vincent Chiodo was hostess to the G. S. S. Club at the Maddox Cafe last Thursday. A delicious luncheon was served lo the mem!)ers and four guests. Prizes went to Ethel Miller, Marguerite Rich, and Irene Turley. The Ned Newman's will soon be leaving for Germany where they will spend the next two years in the Air Force. ll GARLAND MAN HAS HEART SURGERY James Shumway of Garland, aswho was recently named sistant manager of First Securis in ity Bank of Tremonton in Salt the L.D.S. Hospital Lake City, where heart surgery was performed on him Monday. Tuesday reports from relatives indicate the four hour operation was successful, and Mr. Shumway was doing as well as could be expected after this type of surgery. Jim Harlow, Eddie Morris and Fred Okimura made application for the job, and Dennis Kempf had also inquired about the work. When it was learned that the job was only part time for the winter months, Commissioner Burton said he thought Mr. Kempf would not be interested as he now has part time work. The commissioners said they would consider the three men when the present gardener leaves Nov. 1 to return to England. Replacement of a file cabinet for the assessment cards in the County Recorder's office was found necessary.
