Show Home and Farm News AROUND THE COVNTY JESSIE ELLER Out of 41 girls who modeled their outfits for Cache County judges - 14 were in the blue ribbon class. These girls were Jan Moriyama, Linda Wood. Julie Ann Walker, Gloria Fukui. Betty Roberts, Kathleen Cook, Judy Fukui, Karla Finch, Karen Nicholas, Kathryn Karnely, Nancy Rose, Marsha Morris, . Mary Carter and Jill Jorgen-senThe top three will be announced at the talent show on after the Wednesday evening girls have modeled for the audience. The top three girls will represent the county at the state contests. In the Junior reveiw - 23 girls modeled with 7 rating blue ribbons. These girls were Sandra Clark, Nancy Bradshaw, Janice King, Tina McMurdie, Elaine Cook, Candy Peterson and Diana Miller. demonstrations were Nine judged and all were reported as outstanding by the judges. Those rating blue ribbons were given by Julie Ann Walker on "Fabrics", Gloria Fukui and Karnely on "Color", Kathy Suzanne Larsen and Vicki Jensen on "Dry Milk" and Ellen James on "Corral Management and Planning". Blue Ribbons went to Sharon Rasraussen and on the meal Anne Nicholas contest. preparation Three public speakers competed with Meta Peterson rating a blue ribbon. Stitch Along With Mitch Tuesday, Aug. 17, 6:00 p.m., we had a party in honor of our parents. We barbecued hamburgers and ate outside, then we played volleyball. The girls vs. the parents, the parents won both times. Then we came in and modeled our dresses we made in Wednesday, August 18, Janeal Harris, Becki Christensen, Barbara Frank and Jan Moriyama modeled their dresses at the Senior Style Dress Revue at McKinley School. COUNTY FAIR In the Junior Division of the and County Fair both FFA are bigger and better than ever before. There are 353 breeding sheep, 118 fat beef, 103 fat lambs and 33 fat hogs entered in the Junior Division. This is as large as some of the state shows that are held. COOPERATIVE EFFORT I I am pleased whenever visit with LaRain Marble and Glen Nelson. This is a landlord and tenant program where both individuals are working to help each other. By so doing, they have made a prosperous enterprise for both parties. I wish all landlords and tenants could have this same kind of relationship. THINGS THAT SHOULD BE DONE 1. Debbie lead us in the pledge and motto. We discussed our food for the fair. We had picnic luncheon. We had tomato soup, sandwiches, potato chips and pop sides. Mason Friday and traveled to Salt Lake City to attend "Guys and Dolls" at the Valley Music Hall. The occasion being the birthday of Dr. Mason. Mrs. DeLon Stokes and children and Mrs. Polly Smith drove to Salt Lake City Friday where they visited Hoagle Zoo and "This is the Place" monu- ment. Mr. and Mrs. John Eberhard had as their guests, John's father, Herman Eberhard and sister, Gertrude, of Salt Lake City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Max Anderson drove to Salt Lake City Thursday evening to attend "Guys and Dolls" at the Valley Music Hall. They report a most enjoyable time and that the play was very good. Sunday School Group Holds Party Officers and teachers of the Sunday School met Saturday at the Church for a party. The of group under the direction Oscar Christensen, Clyde Anderson and LeRoy Peterson enjoyed a luncheon and a pro- gram. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Anderson and family visited one day during the week in Avon with Mrs. Alma O. Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cullimore of Salt Lake City were also in Avon and the family enjoyed a get together. Attending Explorer Conference Randy Marble, Max Firth and Lyle Hunsaker are attending the Explorer Boy Conference in Provo, Utah for five days. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Marble, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Firth and Mr. and Mrs. Desse Hunsaker. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Firth were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Firth. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Clayton of Ucon, Ida., were also guests of the Firths. Mrs. Clyde Anderson and children accompanied Mrs. Max Anderson and Mary Jane to Ogden one day during the week.
