Show FHA Lists 61 Homes Vacated r LEAD The OliiliSIS ESS L. C. Romney, State Director of the Federal Housing Administration for Utah was in Tremonton last week to study the problem of defaulting homes in this area and the impact on business of these homes being turned back into the FHA pro- gram. In a meeting with City Attorney Mervin E. Holt, Mr. Romney reported that 61 homes in Tremonton had been left for the FHA, amounting to Brigham City has the same problem in a lesser degree with 48 homes listed there in the same category; Garland has seven, Cache County two and Weber County, 28. There is a possibility that others may yet be turned back in the same way. This situation creates problems for local business, as families who are forced to desert their homes, are many times unable to pay other obligations, which affects all business in the area. The help of the people involved in this situation is being sought through the local attorney. The possibility of trading a home here for a similar home in the area to which the people are moving and do this through the FHA is being considered. The possibility of using Melody Park as a Senior Citizen project was also discussed, and further information from the national capitol is promised by Mr. Romney on this possibility. Any help the State Department of FHA can give locally is available and several plans are being studied to help ease this growing burden of empty homes. $775,-000.0- 0. If you think this little bear cub has lost his mother and is up a tree looking over the countryside for her, you're wrong. He's just one of the thousands of bears who get their pictures taken by the two million visitors to Yellowstone National Park each season. The Park also is a sanctuary for many other species of wildlife and visitors are encouraged to remember that although the animals are friendly, they are not tame. Jim Y.
