Participating in the invitational jackpot rodeo were cowboys and cowgirls from Bear River, Box Elder and Sky View. The rodeo involved only timed events, such as calf roping, barrel racing, goat lying, breakaway roping and steer wrestlpole-bendi- ing. Winning the pole bending event with a time of 24 seconds flat, was Trlna Win- ningham a ninth gradert Bear River junior high. Jackie Madsen of Bear River high came in second in this same category. In the barrels, itwasTrina I Winningham again taking first place. Her time was 16.9. Jackie Madsen came in second place in the barrel racing competition also. The three way debate meet included the teams of Jordan, Bear River and Murray. Jordan was declared the winner of the meet. Bear River came in second and Murray third. Debaters representing Bear River were Susan Batis and Peggy Nishlguchi; Alison Scoffleld and LaRee George; Mark Butler and Craig Oka-d- a; Colleen Garfield and Debra Hirschi; Susan Summers and Shelle Stokes; Marlon Anderson and Jesse Archibald; Kathy Rlrie and Sandra Smith; and Curtis Mann and Larry Johnson.
