New lower rates become effective January 1, 1969 with all total electric homes. All meter read after Jan. 1st will he hilled al (he new rate even (hough pari of the electricity used was ued in December. HERE IS WHY ELECTRIC HEATING COSTS CAN GO EVERYBODY BENEFITS WHEN WE HAVE "LOAD BALANCE" DOWN WHEN MOST EVERYTHING To offset inflationary pressures and hold down the cosls of electricity for all customers, we must have favorable operating conditions. This means we must balance the load on (he system as much as possible throughout the year. ELSE IS GOING UPI During rccenl years, the air conditioning requirements of our customers have added substantially to the sum- mer load on our system. This, coupled with increasing irrigation pumping, has changed our "system peak" from winter lo summer. Now, our company's combined maximum customer requirements (which is known as "load") occurs in summer, instead of winter, and this trend will mean more and more generating capacity available for other uses in Ihe winter if it continues. We have developed a new rale schedule lo put this capacity lo work ... we must change to adapt to changes in the pattern of our customers' use of electriciiy. I96R ELECTRIC HEATING IS THE KEY To help us lo increase use of electric heating and balance our load, the Public Service Commission has authorized a reduction in rate for total electric homes using electricity for whole house healing. EVERY HOME CAN QUALIFY New homes built to total electric standards as well as older homes converted to automatically quality for the new low rate of I.IC per kwh for healing and cooling.
