Show Land Bank Loans Are Increasing The Federal Land Bank . of Berkeley, during the first six months of 1964, made $44.5 e million in lone-terloans to farmers and ranchers in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and Hawaii, according to President Wallace E. York. This is an increase of $7.7 million over the same period in 1963 and is the largest dollar volume loanei by the bank in any comparable perloi in its 47 years of operation. According to York, the greatest portion of the increase in loan volume was used - and e to refinance chattel mortgages, to buy land, and to make improvements to land and buildings. , ' WEEKEND GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. J. Howell Observes Fourth of July Reunion Held By Peterson Family Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bywater entertained at a family party at their home Saturday in compliment to Dr. and Mrs. Claine Petersen and family of Wilmington, Del. Dr. Petersen and his wife and family are moving to Laramie, Wyo., where. Dr. Petersen will be employed as a research chemist at the University of Laramie. Dinner was enjoyed by forty members of the Elma Petersen family. Mrs. Reta Sandberg and children of Layton have been spending the past week wiJi Mrs. Sandberg's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Mason. Saturday they all spent the day at Bear Lake. Other guests at the Mason home during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Ira Jack-ma- n and family and Miss June Moore of Brigfiam. Howell celebrated the Fourth of July beginning with a flag ceremony at 8 a.m. Following this the Sunday School sponsored a breakfast and cooks Ray Sorenson, Jim Welker, Virginia Kotter and Mary Hyden served up stacks of hotcakes, sausages and eggs. "A Round The Block Parade", fish pond and candy booths were sponsored by the Primary as was the plate lunch served at noon. The M.I.A. was responsible for the ice cream, pop and other goodie t booth.
