The affair was under the direction of Max Michaelis, Garland, and Mrs. Opal Gam, Fielding, stake leaders. Carl Harper of East Garland had charge of the program, and Sandra Potter of East Garland had charge of the refreshments. Karen Skinner assisted by the Fielding Mia Maids decorated for the event. Spendlove in impressive rites performed in the Logan LDS temple July 7. Pres A. George Raymond officiated. A wedding buffet followed the ceremony at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Burton, Fielding. The benedict is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dewey Spendlove, Brigham City. The bridal couple were honored at a wedding reception and dance that evening at the Fielding LDS ward hall. The receiving line greeted guests before an archway of roses, ivy and pink hearts of lace and ribbon. Delphiniums, daisies and roses adorned the hall. The new Mrs. Spendlove chose a gown of white lace over white slipper satin. The viel of illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls. A single orchid corsage surrounded by a profusion of white baby carnations made up the bridal bouquet. Bridesmaids Miss Mary Burton attended her sister as maid of honor with another sister, Cordelia, JaNae Zundel and DeAnn Sjoblom serving as bridesmaids. IaDawn Spendlove and Maria Ann Johnson, sister and niece of the groom performed the duties of flower girls. All wore gowns of blue and white and carried nosegays of pink roses and white carnations. Best man duties were performed by DeVerl H. Johnson with Gerald Bywater and Douglas Johnston as ushers. All men in the wedding party wore white carnation boutonnieres. Holding a place of honor at the reception was the beautifully decorated wedding fruit cake. The white frosting was adorned with pink rosebuds and topped with a miniature bride and groom in wedding bells. Graceful white swans completed the cake decorations. Carol Petersen, sister of the groom, was at the guest book, and master of ceremonies was Theo Richards. Program included a vocal duet, "Band of Gold," favorite song of the pair, sung by Virginia Welling and Karen Wood; JaNae Zundel and Celia Bennett entertained with a selection, "Temple by the River"; Dora Anger presented a reading followed by "I Love You Truly" and "Because" sung by Val Leavitt. Remarks were made by the bride and bridegroom with the bridal waltz following. Guests joined in dancing the remainder of the evening.
