Miss Jaleen Harris of Tremonton favored with two piano solos after which Mrs. Helen Severson showed colored slides and gave an interesting discussion on many of the Southern States which she visited last summer. A delicious luncheon was served to seventeen club members and four guests. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. Carol Jensen of Brig- ham, Mrs. Eleanor Petersen and Mrs. Elma Petersen. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Mabel Hansen on March 7th. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Petersen and three children returned home last week after spending a week with Mrs. Petersen's sisMr. and ter and brother-in-laMrs. Ronald Stimpson and family in San Diego. Mrs. Dayle Stimpson and sons, Ellwood and Curtis, accompanied them home and will spend an indefinite period at the home of Mrs. Stimpson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Garn. Our ward was saddened Wednesday by the passing of one of the older men, William Bowcutt, after an illness of fourteen months. Mex., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boothe and daughter of Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Marsh, Joyce and William Marsh and Mr. and Mrs. Mearle Marsh and boys of Salt Lake City have been here for a few days. She expects to be gone about a month. Durward Palmer of the Stake High Council accompanied by James Palmer recently returned missionary from Brazil, and his parents, all of Park Valley were visitors and speakers in Sacrament meeting Sunday night. Josie Bourne accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Lee Coombs to Farmington Monday where they attended the funeral for George F. Knowlton, former teacher and life long neighbor of Mrs. Bourne. That was the warning that came today from Bv L. Blood, Ogden division supt. for Utah ' Power & Light Co., who said that the combination of March winds and little boys with kites' can be dangerous unless proper precautions are taken. Mr. Blood urged parents to be sure their children observed these safety rules before they send their kites skyward: ' 1. Don't fly kites near electric wires and poles. 2. Don't use metal or wire of any kind on kites. 3. Use only dry cotton string. Never fly your kite with wet string. Water is one of the best conductors of electricity. 4. Don't climb poles to recover kites. Never try to release entangled kites by throwing stones at them. 5. Never run across streets to get kite into air. 6. Report kites caught in wires and poles to your nearest Utah Power & Light Co. office.
