Show ELWOOD By Mrs. Darwin Anderson Fireside Group Hears A. L. Fife The Jr. Gleaners and Jr. M Men 'held a fireside Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mortenson. Principal A. L. Fife of the L.D.S. Semin- - ary was the guest speaker and told the interested group of experiences during World War II at Okinawa. Refreshments were served to twenty by JoAnn Gardner and Janice Andreason. Ralph Abel and Ila Mortenson are the class leaders. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Gardner attended the missionary farewell 'for Von Dell Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Anderson, Corinne, Sunday evening. He leaves shortly for the West German mission. Pres. A quilt was stitched by the Relief Society this week for Miss Carol Ann Eichel, who will be married Nov. 16 to Mr. Shirrel Sylvester of Penrose. Move To Moab Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Andrea-soare now living at Moab, where Curtis is employed at Charles Steen's Uranium plant. They were formerly employed at Yost. Kelly Benson underwent surgery Tuesday morning at a Brig-haCity hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Carlson and Kathy purchased a home in Tremonton and are now living there. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mortenson visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Smith at Preston. The Relief Society will hold their conference Sunday Nov. 4. Theme of the conference will be, "Seek ye out of the Best Books Words of Wisdom". Norma Erickson and Virginia Petersen will be speakers. The Singing Mothers under the direction of Margaret Harris and Wilma Fridal accompanist will furnish special numbers. Receives Hospital Care Erma Miller is hospitalized at the Valley Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Holbrook and children and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reeves of Salt Lake City visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miiller, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Frank and other relatives. Mrs. Junius Thompson accom panied Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thompson to Provo where she visited for several days with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Billings and e family. Mrs. Ethel Mae Firth accomStokes panied by her son, Wayne LeRoy Mr. and Mrs. Delon brought their baby girl, Carman Stokes, home Sunday from the Ogden hospital. The baby was operated on soon after birth to remove a tumor or her spine. She is doing very well. Mr. and Mrs. Noel Gibbs visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Christensen last week. Mrs. Fred Chriistensen and daughters accompanied them to Salt Lake City to help them move in a new home. Moyle Facer had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stokes Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Judd Forsgren and girls of Willard visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forsgren Tuesday. Frank Shuman of Tremonton, who is on leave from the Navy, was a Sunday visitor at Willard Anderson's residence. Mr. a nd Mrs. Melvin Kilfoyle of Ogden were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kupfer. Firth, spent Thursday morning with her mother, Mrs. Vida Manning of Garland. Mrs. T. R. Sessions spent Sunday afternoon with her son, Kenneth Sessions and wife in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Steven Call of Layton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Firth. Mrs. Cecil Newman and children were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Orwin of Tremonton, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Summers visited Mr. and Mrs. R. G. in Pocatello Thursday. The ladies are sisters. The trip was a combination of business and pleasure. Mrs. Harris said the trip was wonderful. They flew above the bad weather on their way there. They did some sight seeing.
