Show EAST GARLAND By Mrs. Blaine Rhodes Fireside Held by M.I.A. Group The and Gleaners held a fireside at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Christensen Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rhodes and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Sorensen were in charge of the evening, and Miss Betty Jean Sorensen was the speaker. She showed some colored slides t,I her European tour. Cake and punch were served after the meeting and little snowmen were used to decorate the individual plates. Hold Annual Party There were seventeen officers and teachers present Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Harmon Pierson, when she and Mrs. Wayne Grover and Mrs. Clyde Sorensen were at the annual Primary Christmas party. Mrs. Merle Larsen first presented the lesson, then games were played and gifts exchanged. A light lunch was served to end a delightful evening. lone Harper spent Saturday night at the Dale Gardner home in Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Harper were dinner guests of the Gardners and lone returned home with them Sunday. Mrs. Tom Harper attended the annual Christmas party of the Riverside Ladies Birthday Club Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Edna Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Holman attended the Social Hour Club at the Charles Wood home in Garland this week. Mr. and Mrs. Holman were in Ogden Tuesday where they M-M- . An visited Mrs. Mae Bjorklund. Mi. and Mrs. Ursel Rhodes were in Salt Lake City on Thursday and Saturday. Thursday, Mrs. Ellen Rhodes accompanied them as far as Bountiful, where she spent the day with Mrs. Blain Fryer. Saturday, Mrs. Eula Wood and daughters accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes to Bountiful where they left the girls with Mrs. Fryer while they went on to Salt Lake City. Norman Fryer of Bountiful came to East Garland Thursday with his grandmother, Mrs. J. W. Rhodes and returned home Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Ursel Rhodes on their trip to Bountiful and Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Oyler were honored by their children at a double birthday party held for them at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hyde at Tremonton. All their children were present and a pleasant evening was spent. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Wilde of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Dora Shaffer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Shaffer. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Gunnell of Brighun were Monday visitors at the Ken Shaffer home. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes and J. W. Rhodes were in Logan Wednesday. Miss Lenis Christensen returned home from Logan for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Christensen were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sorensen. Joan Grover accompanied Mrs. Reta Sorensen to Ogden, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes visited with Mr. and Mrs. Carl I. Edvalson in Ogden Saturday. The two athletes played football under Coach Wendell Hess at BEAR RIVER CITY By Andrea Huggins Friday afternoon Mrs. Farrell Huggins entertained in honor of her daughter Sheila's birthday. She was six years old. Games were played and delicious refreshments were served to Debra Holmgren, Mitzi Nelson, Karen Breagger, Ruth Anderson, Mary Fae Hansen, Frances Jensen and Georgia Lee Scoffield. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bywater, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnsen, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Waddoups, Mr. and Mrs. Ere Whitaker, and Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Huggins. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thorson attended funeral services for Nephi Lauritzen, held in Logan, Saturday. Mrs. Lauritzen is a sister of Mr. Thorson. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Archibalds' home was the scene of a lovely family Christmas party Sunday. Dinner was served to 28 guests. Lela Anderson and Arvilla Holmgren were in charge of the program con sisting of a reading, Leola Perry; song, Richard Holmgren, Charles Holmgren and Brian Nessler, accompanied by Nola Elizabeth Nessler; reading, Holmgren; duet, Rula R. Check-ett- s and Vita R. Burt and the Town comments were given by Florence Ramsdell. Wanda John-seFlorence Gardner, Jane Peterson and Pearl Elwell were hostesses and they served luncheon from beautifully decorated tables, which carried out the Christmas motif. Moroni Mortensen and Mrs. Mary J. Holmgren have been on the sick list this week. Mrs. Lee Johnsen entertained her club Thursday evening at her home.
