WBM The Senator Reports To The People Cj : j non-politic- al, at the risk of being political, I am compelled in all truthfulness to say that almost without a single exception, people are wholly dissatisfied with present government policies. Korea is a sorepolnt with everyone. People are grumbling about the ineffectiveness of the United Nations. While the great foreign policy debate rages in Congress and elsewhere throughout the nation, constituents complain about the recall of reserves, the draft, particularly the proposed plan for olds, the budget and taxes and so on. President Truman has dared the Congress to cut his budget. As one Senator, I believe that a substantial cut in can- - be expenditures achieved. Many congressmen, both Democratic and Republican, feel the same way and I believe that a sizeable reduction will be made. Nevertheless, taxes are going up. Prices are rising to all time highs and, as usual, wages are1 lagging behind- - What Is needed is a solution, but to date all we have is a conflict of interests each out for its own special gain and without thought to the general welfare. Subsequent columns in this newspaper will give me an opdiscuss each of portunity to these issues on a more individual basis. But at this time, it was my thought to you a word impression of the situation now faced by your representative in . 18-ye- non-defen- se ar BEGINNING FEBRUARY 18-2- be discontinued while our mechanics are attending a Hudson training school in Detroit. jay dee nnnnis International Hudson Motor - Can ad-dop- PLYMOUTH w, PRICED CAR It's a great thrill to feel the surge of power which Utoco Gasoline gives you - as your car zooms over hills and responds to the slightest touch of the throttle.
