We. the undersigned farm- ers, want to tell you how the National Association of Manufacturers is taking the farmer for a ride? We farmers know we've been on the rocks. Until fifteen years ago there wasn't much security in farming. Until "farm parity" was established the farmer was always taking the leavings. When our prices were dropping, we were forced to pay higher mortage and interest rates. When we needed it most, our credit was the poorest. NEW APPROACH IS HELPFUL Beginning in 1933, the Democrats put some sense into the structure. farm price-cred- it Farmers got the first farm program they ever had ,We got some help in conservation. Our prices were tied to those of industry. A water program developed. Utah farm incomes rose from $26,000,000 in 1932 to $160,000 000 in 1948. FOR SALE: up to $5,000.00 IT saying the it would ruin sound banking. (NAM Resolutions and Platform, December 1934).
